Henry Sandon of BBC TVs Antiques Roadshow, who considered to be the worlds greatest expert on Worcester porcelain, will be at the fifth Worcester Flower Show in Gheluvelt Park on Saturday 14 August from 100 pm 5.00pm.

Worcester based businesses who have been trading between 18 months and three years and who need help to take the next step in their development are in luck, thanks to a Business Booster grant of up to 1,000 being offered through Worcester City and Worcestershire County councils. The grant must be matched, pound for pound, by the business themselves.

The closing date for entries for Worcester Flower Show 2010 in Gheluvelt Park on Saturday 14 August has been extended from Monday 2 to Friday 6 August. Its free, too, so theres no excuse for missing your chance to enter! Entry forms can be filled in online or picked up from the Customer Services Centre at Orchard House, Farrier Street.

Worcester City Council and the Dogs Trust are urging dog owners to pick up the poop and help clean up the citys public spaces this summer.
Three new Swingo street cleaners delivered to Guildhall
As part of the daily battle to keep Worcester clean, Worcester City Council is took delivery of three new compact street sweepers. The Swingo machines manufactured by Aebi Schmidt are able to collect up to two cubic metres of waste before they need emptying, which means they can operate further away from the main depot and for longer than existing equipment owned by the council.

Mayor's Diary 5th 11th July 2010
My week began musically with a visit to the Guildhall from Chorus Semper Virit, a choir from Vernon in France, with whom Worcester has a friendship pact. My thanks to Peter Rogers of the Twinning Association and to Jacques D Romer who arranged the visit. They sang to me in English and it was both beautiful and emotional. Two groups of students from Bologna in Italy, under the watchful eye of Francesco La Rovere, also visited the parlour for a talk and tour.

Worcester City Council funds free swimming extension for under 16s
Following the announcement from the DCMS that the funding for free swimming will end on the 31st July 2010, Worcester City Council has committed to continue the funding for swimmers under the age of 16 until the end of August 2010.

Gheluvelt Gold is the brainchild of Stuart Minchin, Assistant Parks Warden at Worcester City Council. I thought creating a brand new beer which was locally produced would be a fantastic way to celebrate the imminent launch of Worcesters renovated Gheluvelt Park, he said.
