All councils are required to measure and report the value of efficiency savings they have achieved since April 2008. An efficiency saving occurs when the cost of an activity falls, but its effectiveness is not reduced.

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust are inviting people to Gheluvelt Park on Sunday March 14th to take a look at the birds in the city park. Adults and children will have the opportunity to learn the best places to spot and hear birds as they stroll through the park, and start to learn how to identify each species by their markings, song and behaviour. The park, which is off Barbourne Road, has many trees and a lake that numerous birds are attracted to. OPAL West Midlands will also be on hand to help out.

Even in robes we could not compare with the university cheer leaders. After their race they formed a human pyramid in an Arabesque pose surely a first for the Guildhall.

Alyson Craigan gives music lessons at city schools. She made me smile on Tuesday when, with inspiration and a violin, she led the children of Warndon Primary in a lovely medley of songs at the opening of the Lavender Childrens Centre. Pupils of St Joseph RC School performed too and were enjoyed by Centre Manager, Becky Llewellyn and local mums while the babies gurgled.

City Council and Fire Service join forces with Citys diverse groups to improve public services

Worcester City Council and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service have joined forces with local voluntary and community groups to ensure their services are fair to all Worcester residents. A new Equality Engagement Forum has been set up that allows representatives of religious community groups, disability charities and other voluntary organisations to comment on the way the Council and the Fire Service work.
